Trial and pricing proof checklist
Before a legal software choice, separate price curiosity from buying proof.
Popular software directories push buyers toward free trials, pricing filters, compare actions, and vendor visits. This checklist adapts that pattern for legal software buyers who need to know what would count as proof after they choose.
LawDepot
Best when the buyer has a document in mind and needs to verify template fit, state coverage, subscription terms, and cancellation risk before purchase.
- Proof event: dashboard sale or commission row.
- Buyer risk: wrong document, wrong jurisdiction, misunderstood renewal.
Genie AI
Best when the buyer needs to test repeatable contract drafting, review, clause reuse, or playbook work before committing to a workflow.
- Proof event: signup, trial, sale, or commission evidence.
- Buyer risk: weak output controls, unclear data handling, low repeat usage.
PILMMA
Best when the legal software question is really about intake follow-up, attribution, owner accountability, and marketing execution.
- Proof event: lead, qualified call, sale, or commission evidence.
- Buyer risk: demo-call mismatch, unclear scope, no baseline conversion metric.
Trial and pricing proof checklist
| Directory-style question | Why it matters | Buyer path | Revenue evidence to look for later |
|---|---|---|---|
| Can the buyer evaluate without a meeting? | Self-serve paths usually fit document/template or AI workflow intent better than high-touch consulting intent. | LawDepot or Genie AI | Row export plus dashboard sale, signup, commission, or payable row. |
| Is price driven by users, documents, cases, or lead volume? | The variable that changes price reveals whether the buyer is choosing a tool, a workflow, or a growth system. | PILMMA for growth/intake; Genie AI for contract volume | Lead/sale row for PILMMA, signup/commission row for Genie AI. |
| What would make this sponsored visit a failed experiment? | Good affiliate experiments define disqualifiers before distribution, not after dashboard checks. | Use the shortlist worksheet before choosing. | Zero partner dashboard events after distribution window, or dashboard visit rows with no leads/sales/commission. |
Do not overclaim trial interest
A visitor opening a pricing or trial path is intent evidence, not revenue evidence. Keep the distinction explicit in every report.
Revenue proof rule
Revenue is verified only by partner dashboard leads, sales, commission rows, payable balance, payout/export evidence, screenshot evidence, or partner email confirmation. Published pages, UTM visits, redirects, and exported visit rows are not revenue.
